Ride Description (Optional)

From beautiful Newburyport, we’ll wind through some lovely back roads into Southern New Hampshire. All three rides will follow stretches of quiet roads along the Merrimack River.   The 38 mile route has an optional stop at Market Square Bakehouse in Amesbury  (mile 23) right in square … great for cyclists - can lean bikes by outdoor tables.

And the longer ride heading as far north as Exeter, where we stop for lunch/restroom @ Me & Ollie's Bakery & Cafe (mile 29.5)

Caution at Spofford St. Bridge: This narrow bridge heading into Newburyport has no shoulder and is a major bottleneck; solo riders should firmly take the center of the lane to prevent dangerous passes, while groups should cross as a tight, two-abreast block. If you see heavy traffic or wide loads approaching, please use the pedestrian sidewalk for your own safety.

Terrain: Mostly gentle rolling, no real challenging hills.
