Ride Description

A classic CRW ride with a new twist, intended to be fun and friendly for participants at all paces. On this route, we ride through Concord; and, via a new shift (due in part to declining road conditions on the outbound side of Bedford Road), we then cruise along Lowell Road and Concord Street into Carlisle, where the 23- and 30-mile routes diverge (just past mile 14) at Fern's, which is targeted to reopen toward the end of the year.

We divide into multiple pace groups at the beginning so you can meet others who will be riding at your same speed. If you find yourself dropped, just wait for the next group to come along; but make sure you have the GPS route file (linked below) loaded onto your GPS device or phone in case you get separated.

Most riders, choose the 30-mile route, though the 23-mile option offers a nice alternative if you prefer that distance or want to get back to Lexington quicker. The 30-mile route offers a brief rest stop just past the mid-point at Great Brook Farm, which offers water and restrooms. Gather for a coffee / pastry / lunch break and social after the ride at Tatte Bakery & Café in Lexington (on the left ~3 blocks past the Minuteman Statue on Mass. Ave).

Meeting Location

We start on the Mass. Ave. side of the Lexington Battle Green.

Parking

On Saturday mornings, I recommend the Depot Lot ($0.50/hour), where you can park all day and which is accessible from Meriam Street or from Depot Square via Mass. Ave.

On Sunday mornings, you can likely find a parking spot along the Battle Green.

Many riders ride to and from the start (even from Boston).

Restrooms

Best bet may be one of the cafes in Lexington Center.

Weather Cancellation

I will provide notice by Friday evening if I decide to push change the start time or cancel due to unfavorable weather.

Program or Ride Series

We aim to run this ride semi-regularly. It's a good ride to connect with other riders who ride at your pace.
