Ride Description:
In it's 5th season, Bikepacking 101 is a two day, one night introduction to "bikepacking," which means riding to beautiful locations on mostly unpaved roads, with all gear carried on your trusty bike, NOT your back.
Day 1's route is on paved and gravel roads in NH and a section of the Cross Vermont rail trail in VT, arriving at Ricker Pond State Campground in VT, which features a swimming beach and modern bathhouse. (https://vtstateparks.com/ricker.html)
Day 2 includes more Cross Vermont rail trail, a unique hardware store & bar in Cabot, VT, and a wonderful LONG descent on the Lamoille Valley rail trail back to the starting location in St Johnsbury.
