Ride Description:
Description: This is Narragansett Bay Wheelmen Ride no. 52. NBW has graciously given us permission to use this route in the past. According to NBW's notes, "Designed by Bill and Sandy McIlmail, it is a very flat ride through the cranberry growing region of southeastern Mass . . . Mattapoisett is a picturesque town with a lovely waterfront. Rochester is a stately New England town with its church and green. Carver is the home of the popular King Richard's Medieval Faire . . ." This is probably going to be your fastest 50-mile ride of the season. There is also a shorter 30-mile option.
Groups: We will split up into several groups based on distance and speed, depending on who registers. Most likely a 10-12 mpg; 13-14 mph; 15-16 mph; 17+. I will likely lead a paceline with the goal of 18-19 mph average.
Find a few friends and break your records.
Food stops: Country store in Rochester; Dunkin Donuts on Rt. 28, General Store and deli in South Carver.
Ride Start Location:
Commuter parking lot, right off Rt. I-195 (Exit 31A), Mattapoisett, across the street from Uncle Jon's Coffee
