Ride Description:

Want to ride the Summit2Sea/X-Mass in July ride but can't get a car ride out there? Bike out there instead.

Similar to the 2023 route, the route is based on a GCN video of the route: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZnCkl4AYR8 with modifications to avoid some interesting terrain.  (We discovered in 2022 that GCN didn't actually bike the entire route so do don't rely on the route GCN posted.)

It's a hard ride with some dirt roads in the mix. Plan to stay overnight at the top of Greylock to start Summit2Sea//X-Mass in the morning.

It will be a no-drop ride, but the pace will be brisk.

Ride Start Location:

Ride Start: Parking Lot at the base of Wachusett Mountain.

We'll be starting at the base of Wachusett Mountain at 8:30am. The earliest train arrives at 7:56, giving you 30 minutes to get to the mountian.  The ride ends at the summit of Mount Greylock and will connect with people riding the Summit to Sea ride. If you are only planning to ride to Greylock, you'll need to arrange for a ride home.  If you are riding Summit to Sea, and park near Mount Wachusett, you'll need to arrange transportation back to your vehicle.
