Tour four covered bridges around Keene: Cresson, Thompson, Slate, & Coombs. Many stops to enjoy the day:
0km Troy historical depot
23km Winchester town, many services
32km Coombs covered bridge
34km Slate covered bridge
39km Thompson covered bridge
43km Sawyers covered bridge
48km Keene: Fire Dog Breads, Lindy's Diner, Monadnock coop market, & Yolo frozen yogurt.
Finish with serving of cold soft drinks courtesy of CRW Gravel program, & a dip in Lake Dennison. Optional group dinner on our way back at Wachusett Brewing Co.
This ride is mostly on gravel roads & rail trail. Some of it maybe rough, sandy, & rocky. According to Strava, the route is 55% dirt, 29% not specified, & 15% paved. Tires 32–35mm should be sufficient. Note we have another group doing a longer 65 mile route, and others on a parallel loop using mainly paved roads, both from a different start location. Ideally, we can coordinate meeting time in Keene then picnic stop after ride by Lake Dennison. There is an optional group dinner on our way back at Wachusett Brewing Co., if you are so inclined.
Meet at the Troy B&M Railroad Depot (small yellow building) on 2454 Water Street (https://goo.gl/maps/Lv84M7z4KGqWmBpw9) at 8:45 to roll at 9AM. Park in the dirt parking lot by the Depot.
