Travel further north and join us for a social and fun time exploring new routes in southern New Hampshire. We're putting a new spin on the granite state motto, Live Free and Ride with a choice of routes. We'll ride over rail trails and past mountains at the absolute peak of leaf peeping season while sampling fresh baked goods from local bakeries and general stores. There are 5 routes exploring different regions north of the MA border including a 24mi scenic ride through Mine Falls park in Nashua, a 33mi club ride along a canopy-covered route into Amherst, a hilly metric century that runs through Temple and past Andy's Playhouse in Wilton (this one has the best views), a 100mi route that passes by Crotched Mountain in Bennington, and a special double metric (unofficial) randonnee traveling all the way to Hancock before looping back to Massachusetts.
Many of the roads are well paved, but 25mm tires are recommended for the rougher patches. Rest stops are noted in the cue sheets, but please bring extra food and water for the longer routes which have more distance between stops.

You know you're going to eat too much on Thanksgiving. You want to be good, but you're grab that extra turkey leg and an extra piece of pie.

Now what? Are you going to sit on the couch on Friday? Are you going shopping at a mall?

Better idea. Join me, jump on your bike and burn off some of those calories. 20 miles, 40 miles, and metric. Maybe I'll put together a full century is there is enough interest. 

Join us for a fun and social gravel/mixed terrain ride! This ride is mostly on wide gravel roads & rail trail. Some of it may be rough, sandy, & muddy. According to Strava, the route is 51% unpaved. Tires 32–35mm should be sufficient. If you are familiar with the route you can show-and-go at your own pace; if you are new, we will have a no-drop group.

A journey through Revolutionary War history. Start at Lexington Battle Great near John Parker statue to the eastern entrance to Minuteman National Historic Park. Follow the Battle Road past several historic buildings, soldier graves, Paul Revere capture site, all the way to the other side of the park at Meriam's Corner. Continue over trails through Concord farmland and open space.

Loop back on historic rail beds that connected Lexington-Bedford-Concord: Reformatory Branch & Minute Man Bikeway. Until Lexington Battle Green where "first shots heard around the world" on 19 April 1775.

Meet at Alewife station near the taxi stand. Base pace 14–16mph. Climb through Belmont center & Concord Avenue to more climbs on Lincoln Hills before meandering through Lexington.

I'm not ready to run 26 miles, but I am ready to bike 26 miles. Let's meet at the Hopkinton Bandstand at the corner of Hayden Rowe and Park St. at 12:30 am and ride the marathon route in to Boston. You'll get home in time to take a nap and get back out to cheer on the runners. 

You'll need lights on your bike. Bright lights in the front and red on the back. It will be dark. It's midnight. The more lights the better. Add on glow sticks, LEDs, disco balls, whatever makes you happy.

Coming from Boston, the Framingham/Worcester train 537 leaves South Station at 10:55 pm and arrives in Southborough at 11:56 pm. Then it's a short ride, uphill on Cedar St. to Hopkinton. For any one looking to ride out and back, here are some rallying points for CRW to gather for the ride out (which is just a reverse of the marathon route).

We will meet in front of Cassidy Playground right by the reservoir and across the corner from the MBTA Cleveland Circle stop.
Start your morning off right with a tour of scenic roads South! We will pass through Needham Junction, Dedham, Stonybrook Reservation, and by the Brookline Center before rolling back to Cleveland Circle. We will swing by Fuel (nearby on Chestnut Hill Ave) at the end of the ride to relax and chat; come for the ride and stay for the coffee!
