We'll travel the quick route from Groton to Hollis NH, South Amherst and long route riders will attempt "the climb" up to Mont Vernon. Please be certain you have low gears for this and the Old Milford Road climb on the return. Be forewarned that both climbs have some steep sections!! If in doubt, the 45 (medium) mile ride has plenty of more do-able hills and travels a lovely route through Milford to Brookline, NH. The 30 mile ride detours from the longer rides in Hollis taking in quiet back roads into Brookline. Once back in Groton Filho's Cucina and the Salt and Light Cafe on Main Street are great places for lunch.

Notes:

The long riders can stop @ Moulton's Market in Amherst just before the climb into Mont Vernon. Alternately, you can visit the Mont Vernon General store after the climb and before descending into Milford. The long ride will then ascend Old Milford Rd in Brookline. If you wish to bypass this climb after you reach Route 13 follow the 45 mile route. THIS IS NOT AN ARROWED RIDE.

This is a ride where you can make a lot of friends especially when they are hills! They'll make you a stronger cyclist and you can count on them to prepare you well for future climbs this season. The medium route passes through Brookline, NH and the long route adds a scenic and (of course) hilly loop through Mason, NH. All rides visit the lovely hamlet of Hollis just over the New Hampshire border and stop at Monument Square for the Market. We'll ride by Filho's Cucina in Groton near the ride's end where a well deserved and sumptuous post-ride lunch can enjoyed by all.
Notes:

PLEASE print out your Cue sheet from the links if you need one! The leader will NOT have any to hand out at the start.

Park and Ride-Portsmouth

551 NH 33
Portsmouth , NH
Directions:

Take 95N to Exit 3 (1st Exit past the toll booth). Turn right at the end of the ramp onto Rte 33. The Park and Ride will be about 1 mile on the left

This is the long-loved ride from Portsmouth NH that goes up the coast to Nubble Light and Perkins Cove, and then goes inland;. When people ride up the coast, they think that the best part of the ride is over first, but it gets even better inland. The short ride does not go as far as Nubble Light, but is flat. The highest point on the long ride is 250 feet. This ride is joint with North Shore Cyclists, and we will be joined by people training for the Ride to End Alzheimer's.
If you would like to use a cue sheet, please print one at home and bring it to the ride

Notes:

This route is NOT ARROWED.
If you're searching the Ride with GPS database, these two rides are the ones labeled "Updated" - the old routes with a similar name don't follow roads.

Modified version of the former West Podunk route on back roads in and around Shirley, MA, voted America's Most Historic Small Town by ePodunk.com (really!). Short ride includes Groton, Sterling, Lancaster, and Bolton. Long ride adds nice loop in Townsend and Lunenberg. Both routes now have lunch stop at Kimball's Farm in Lancaster and avoid busy retail area in Leominster. Limited food and drink opportunities, so BYO.

Notes:

Starting point of this ride has a newly constructed parking garage, which has 7' height clearance. Only a few spaces are available outside the garage for vehicles with roof racks. Other CRW riders should park on the UPPER LEVEL of the garage. Be sure to download the 2020 version of the GPS routes and cue sheets (linked below), as the 2019 version had an alternate starting location due to construction of the parking garage.
