SHORTER ROUTE for early sunsets! We've removed Estabrook and added an out-an-back on the Concord section of the Reformatory. Should finish just as the sunsets. BRING FRONT AND TAIL LIGHTS!!! Join us for a fun and social gravel/mixed terrain ride! This ride is mostly on wide gravel roads & rail trail. Some of it may be rough, sandy, & muddy. According to Strava, the route is 66% unpaved. Tires 32–35mm should be sufficient. If you are familiar with the route you can show-and-go at your own pace; if you are new, we will have a no-drop group.

A journey through Revolutionary War history. Start at Revolution Hall and ride via Meagherville trail and residential streets to the eastern entrance to Minuteman National Historic Park. Follow the Battle Road past several historic buildings, soldier graves, Paul Revere capture site, all the way to the other side of the park at Meriam's Corner. Continue over trails through Concord farmland and open space. Right out to Concord center and back on historic rail beds that connected Lexington-Bedford-Concord: Reformatory Branch & Minute Man Bikeway. Finish at Revolution Hall, and treat yourself to a beer!

*** Bring proper navigation tools: GPS device, phone app, or cue sheet. Do not rely on others to help you with navigation. They may ride at a different speed than you. ***

A CRW classic! Voted Best New Ride in 2010, all routes offer a mix of suburban and rural riding, with terrain varying from gradual grades to downright hilly. The short ride hits the Towns of Chelmsford, Westford, Groton, Dunstable, and Tyngsborough. The medium ride adds a loop west and north into Pepperell and Hollis, NH. The long ride adds a scenic loop north of Hollis. Dunkin' at mile 25 for medium and long routes (optional out and back for the long route). Other options include Buckley's Bakery/Cafe, Monument Sq Market, and Farmstands (Lull Farm and Brookdale Farm; short out and back for medium ride). And just in time, a story about two young rescue beavers cared for at Chelmsford Wildlife Sanctuary: https://patch.com/massachusetts/chelmsford/chelmsford-wildlife-rescue-be...

Let's do it again! The weather looks great for Saturday; and enjoy a pre-Halloween donut to get your sugar fix started.

Enjoy this delightful ride with a friendly group. We span Newton, Wellesley, Needham and Dover. There's a regular (25 miles), medium (33 miles) and long (47 miles). Back by popular demand: we'll have a pre-ride social gathering for anyone who wants to join at Dunkin Donuts, 1148 Beacon St., Newton (it has bathrooms, fyi). This Dunkin is next door to the ride start, a 1 minute walk; have a free coffee and donut on CRW's tab, up to $5 per person; tell them to "put it on Lisa's card" (those are the magic words). Parking for the actual ride is behind the condo building at 1172 Beacon St., Newton. There is free parking but please park in the back only. The ride is show-and-go, everyone at their own pace. You can use GPS or print a cue sheet ahead (no printed copies at the ride start).

A great way to meet other women CRW members!

This is a low-traffic, scenic ride through Lexington, Burlington, Woburn, Winchester, and Arlington! The ride leaves from the Minuteman Bikeway terminus near Alewife (at the intersection of three bike paths: Fitchburg Cutoff, Alewife Linear, and Minuteman). We head down the Minuteman bikeway to Lexington Center, then to Burlington and up Blanchard Rd to the water tower at Mary Cummings Park. We descend to beautiful Horn Pond, spin past Mystic Lakes, and take our "secret" route back to Alewife (that cuts out the traffic in Arlington Center). Expect a pace of about 13-15 mph, with stops to regroup as needed (faster riders can form groups to make their own time).
Rain cancels. Will make call by 10 pm the night before. Will check again at 6 am in case of unexpected weather.
