Wednesday Gravel - intermediate

CRW Rides are open to members and limited guests. Guests may only attend two rides before joining.

If a rider has not pre-registered, that rider must do so online at the start of the ride. 

The online registration will include a liability waiver that all riders will need to review and accept. 

The online registration will also require all riders to review CRW’s Safety and COVID Guidelines and to agree to follow those guidelines on the ride.

 

Route (Updated for MORE "no bike" signs in Lincoln) - Starting from Meriam's corner and start eastward on the Battle Road. We'll do our usual Bedford Lane - Sandy Pond - Pine hill, then head to Codman East/ Codman North. We'll do a short loop around the estate, then head into Wright Woods, loop through the old boat house and out onto Sudbury Rd. We'll go though Hapgood Wright Town Forest and back to the start.

Join us for a fun and social intermediate gravel/mixed terrain ride. This ride is a bit more technical than the Battle Road ride and is mostly on fire roads with some technical roots, sand and rocks. There are also a few smooth single-track sections. According to Strava, the route is 65% unpaved. If you have gravel tires 32–35mm, and have ridden on the Estabrook portion of the Dirty Battle Road, you should be fine.

 

*** Bring proper navigation tools: GPS device, phone app, or cue sheet (note that those don't work well for some wood sections). Do not rely on others to help you with navigation. They may ride at a different speed than you.

*** Bring bug spray: this is tick and mosquito season, and we will be in the woods for the majority of the ride.

*** Clear / light shade glasses recommended: Late in the day and in the woods sunglasses may restrict visibility

Rain cancels. Ride leader will make the call by noon on the day of the ride.

Directions: 

From Route 95 Take exit 46B (Old Exit 30B) for Route 2A West. Pass flashing yellow light at Hanscom Drive and continue to second flashing light at fork; stay right onto Lexington Road AKA Battlefield Road. There will be a  sign for parking for Meriam's Corner.
