Back by popular demand. Knot Maynard was first run on 7 July 2007, ergo the distance of the long route.
This ride offers several lengths from 52 to 77 miles.
You'll be exercised but not defeated - Knot Maynard traverses some of our favorite roads in Middlesex County. See Lake Boon; pass Honey Pot Hill Orchards and climb Whitman St; wind along Old Harvard Rd and climb to the highest point by the Boxborough Museum on Hill Rd; then, if you are riding the longer routes, to the Groton Woods and the roller coaster of Lost Lake. For those on the 77-mile route, let the residual adrenaline from Lost Lake carry you around Upper Massapoag Pond. Since that is the northernmost reach of Knot Maynard, according to the route maps, you will notice it's all downhill from there back to the start (wink wink).
All but those on the long route will pass Kimball Farm in Carlisle - be sure to check out their ice cream.
No ride in Middlesex County is complete without a pass through Concord, the undisputed cycling Mecca around these parts. Next, of course, is Walden Pond (if it's a hot day, stop in for a swim), only to be followed by another favorite, Water Row in Lincoln. When you pass King Philip Woods and cross Rt 27, you have 5 miles to go. Give it your all and finish strong!

Check back the night before this ride for any updates or route edits.
