We ride from Wayland to the Waltham end of the trail and back all at a gentle pace so we can stay together.

This ride is intended for 10 to 15-year-old kids on solo bikes and younger kids on tandems or in kiddie seats.  Parents are expected to stay near their children, to help keep things moving, and to make sure that all cross safely at intersections.

The trail is under construction on the Waltham side.  If it is not yet paved please avoid exploring as it may be dangerous.  I’ll bring Kind bars or something like that to hand out at the stop.

On return to Wayland Center we can lunch together.  These two restaurants are near each other.

Or bring your own food.

There is a grass strip between the parking lot and the bike path where we could spread some blankets and picnic.

I hope to use this ride as an opportunity to get input from parents about what types of family rides they would like to see in the future, what distances are suitable for their kids as well as what kinds of roads and terrain.
