Ride is cancelled

Bah humbug! The weather report isn't cooperating and it looks like rain for the outbound leg and blustery winds for the return. I'll re-schedule for Sunday. I hope some of you can make it.

Starting at the Northeast Regional Voc Ed School in Wakefield, we'll bike through the Breakheart Revervation, the Lynn Woods, the Spring Pond trails, and Gallows Hill to Salem. A short tour of Salem to the House of 7 Gables, leads us to the bike path to Marblehead. Arriving in M'hd between 12:00 and 1:00 allows for a lunch in town (I suggest Java Sun since it's on the route and has outdoor seating). Back on the rail trail to the Swampscott and Lynn shore. The Lynnway brings us to the Eastern Strand bike path back the Breakheart reservation and the endpoint. Lots of twists and turns in the route keep the speed down. Plan on a finish between 2:00 and 3:00. . This time of year, everything is weather dependent. Temps, rain, snow, and strong winds may force a change in plans. You'll need a gravel bike or its functional equivalent. Everything is bikeable by normal people but the trails and carriage roads are not maintained to automotive standards. That said, if you can do the Wednesday night ride, you can do this. Any questions call or text Gene at 617-610-1875 or email ho.eugene@verizon.net. CHECK BACK THE NIGHT BEFORE FOR ANY LATE CHANGES TO THE ROUTE.
