A 16 mile gravel ride starting at the Alewife MBTA station, North along the Alewife Greenway to the Middlesex Fells. We'll take the carriage roads around the reservoirs and return through Medford and the Middlesex Parkway.
Bring your gravel or mountain bikes. It's bikeable on a gravel bike but larger tires and low pressures will help deal with the occasional rocky terrain. We'll meet at the Alewife T station. If you're driving to the start, park at the Fresh Pond Mall and bike over the bridge to the start.

PLEASE MEET AT THE ALEWIFE SUBWAY ENTRANCE NEAREST THE PARKING GARAGE. THIS IS NEXT TO THE RT 2/16 OVERPASS. SEE THE PHOTO

For strong gravel and CX bikers, plan on less than 2 hours round trip. For average persons, about 2:15. For those who walk the ups and downs, about 2:30. Once we are in the Fells, the route is entirely on carriage roads but their smoothness varies considerably. GPS reception can be sketchy. If you're not familiar with the Fells, it's best to stick with another rider. Asking directions of passersby (of which there will be many) isn't always productive.
