CRW’s Second Snow Ride
Ride Type: Mixed Terrain, about 50/50 snowy trails/roads
Start: Horn Pond Parking Lot, 93 Lake Ave, Woburn, MA
Date & Time: Whenever the second snow hits. RHQ First Snow Ride was 1/7/22, so the next snowstorm will be CRW Second Snow Ride.
Distance: ~10 miles, ~2 hrs
Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/37963373

CRW is going to hold a Second Snow Ride after RHQ's First Snow Ride. We will ride when the Second Snow of the season comes. The Second Snow will be defined as the next snow after RHQ's First Snow Ride. The ride will happen if the forecast is for snow falling for the duration of the ride and some accumulation is expected. We will ride day or night, weekend or workday, but not in the middle of the night. Register now, then whenever snow is in the forecast keep an eye on CRW's Slack mixed-terrain channel and your email for start time. If more than 8 people show up for the ride, we will split into two groups.

Ride Studio Cafe originated the First Snow Ride in 2015. Ride Headquarters has lots of detailed information about riding in snow at https://www.rideheadquarters.com/all-rides-events/rsc-first-snow-2021. If you need winter gear, give them a call.

Be flexible. Start time will be posted at least 1 hour before the ride. Posts will be to CRW's Slack mixed-terrain channel and by email to registered riders.
Make sure you have the right bike and tires, plus proper clothing for the conditions. Most importantly, bring the right attitude. Riding in the snow is an adventure and will present some surprises.
Studded tires are recommended for this ride.
Headlight and taillight are required. Falling snow makes it difficult for drivers to see cyclists.

Date: Saturday Jan 29, 2022

Time:
About an hour after the second snow starts. Will email the day before.
Day or night. Weekend or weekday.
