Come take a tour around the Wachusett Reservoir and reward yourself with ice cream at Erikson's Dairy at the end. The ice cream is on us (1 small ice cream), but you will earn your treat, as the long and medium routes climb Wattaquadock Hill in Bolton. 37 mile route omits Wachusset reservoir loop. The 24 mile route omits both the reservoir and Wattaquadock Hill. But all three routes climb Long Hill Rd. in Bolton (like I said, you will earn that ice cream!) but it's worth it. There will be 15-16 mph average paced group available on long route.

Please note Erikson's doesn't open until 11:00 so pace yourself accordingly.

Notes:

Ride is limited to 35 riders

No bathroom at ride start.

Ride around the Quabbin reservoir on abandoned roads and dirt roads with a stop in Amherst for lunch.  Start at 9:00 AM at the Ralph C Mahar Regional School in Orange.

Good practice for, or an alternative to, D2R2.  My preference is for the participants not to spread out excessively.  Although not techy, the dirt stretches are lightly traveled and long which can make addressing mechanical and physical problems difficult for a lone rider.

Bring a gps device with a map display or a smartphone with a gps app and enough battery power to last 8+ hours.
