The two rides start at the same time and at the same place, mostly along the same route. The Social Revolutions is slightly shorter for a more comfortable pace.

The Rapid Revolutions longer route is the training ride option. If you want to kick-start the weekend with a quick ride, the Rapid Revolutions is for you! Average speed of 16–19+ mph, go big or go home!

Just show up, introduce yourself to others, find someone to ride with, & agree on the rules of the ride. Then off you go. Split into fast & social groups as needed.

Option of ice cream at Rancatore's in Lexington or coffee at Peete's or Starbucks after the ride.

Meet near Captain John Parker statue in Lexington Battle Green.

*** Bring proper navigation tools: GPS device, phone app, or cue sheet. Do not rely on others to help you with navigation. They may ride at a different speed than you. ***

Ride Start:

North Bridge Parking Lot

300 Monument St
Concord , MA
Directions:

Route 2 to Rt 126 (Walden Street) to Concord Center, right on Main Street, left around monument and right onto Monument Street. The North Bridge Parking Area is 1/2 mile ahead on the right. The ride start is about 1 1/2 miles from the Concord commuter rail station on the Fitchburg line. Go north on Sudbury street, bear right on Main street, and from there, follow driving directions. Train schedules are here: https://mbta.com/schedules/CR-Fitchburg/timetable

Temps not reaching 40 and a brisk westerly wind. This ride runs North and South (mostly) to avoid the headwinds (when possible) and seeks the more sheltered roads (in theory) to minimize the wind chill (maybe). Most importantly, it has the key attributes of a winter ride - it's short with enough hills for your metabolic heat generation to exceed your convective heat loss. Show the gods of thermo who's in charge!
Meet at the North Bridge parking lot in Concord at 11:00 AM to give the sun a chance to warm things up and, more importantly, melt any potential black ice.
I ride at a sluggish pace but will try to group riders by pace if enough show up.
We'll stop at Ferns in Carlisle Center for thawing out and a hot drink.
