Ride Start:

In 1775-1776 Benedict Arnold and Richard Montgomery invaded Canada. Americans needed more troops and supplies to siege Quebec. Colonel Jacob Bayley led the northern frontier militia from Newbury, Vermont. He urged General Washington to build a shorter road. Washington, without waiting for Congress, approved the plan on April 29, 1776.   Ride this historic road!  Highlights include:  scenic towns, sparkling ponds, rolling hills, quiet roads, and "almost all are dirt. Dirt. Dirt. Dirt.".

Space is limited, registration will be open Sept 8- October 9.

If there is foliage to be seen locally, Prospect St in Harvard is the place to see it. Two routes: 40 miles for the climbing enthusiasts and 28 miles for the elevation averse (but, you don't get the view). Start at 10:00 on Sat 10/23/21 from the Keyes St parking lot in Concord. Park on the side away from the rest rooms where there is usually more space. Pace: There is no pace. Whatever suits you. The leader will do the longer route at his customary sluggish pace. If you need an excuse to loaf, he'll provide it. But, If you need a fast puller, show up anyway. There will be others of like mind and that's all you need for a pace line. Keep it tight, rotate the lead, and you'll be done in time to accomplish your leaf raking chores. Call or text Gene Ho at 617-610-1875 if any questions.
