SKI REPORT

Wed. Jan 26, Ski the Estabrook Woods
Leader: Mike Hanauer
10 AM, Start Mike’s Place in Carlisle

Skiers (11): Mike, Betty Hoffman, Bob Sawyer, Dick Arsenault, Frank Horrigan, Hank Zeuli, Jerry Green, Phyllis Biegun, Richard Vignoni, Susan Broome and first timer Dave Wiederspahn.
Notable absence (unexplained): Winslow Green.

Eleven people came out to ski in Estabrook Woods. That was about 8 more than I (Mike) expected considering it was snowing pretty much all day. But 3+ hours of skiing, going all the way to the Punkatasset area in Concord, in great show while it was snowing is as good as it gets (IMHO).

An informal meal at Mikes after the trek was notable since none of his cooking actually made anyone sick (at least as of the time we left). Our fearless Wed Wheeler organizer (Dick Arsenault) seemed to perk up when the Chocolate Chip cookies appeared.

Richard took some wonderful pictures, including an incredible X marks the spot shot. Very apropos considering we were doing X-skiing. Two large trees had fallen over our trail forming a well proportioned X

And to the person who left a pair of hiking boots -- give me a call. They are too big for my feet.
