MBTA Bike Day

May 4,1975

John Kane says: "I took these pictures on the Red Line on May 4, 1975 as part of MBTA Bike Day, an event that was never repeated. We took our bikes on the Red Line from Harvard to Ashmont on special trains. The scruffy looking rider with the knit cap is not homeless but is Ralph Galen and the rider in the orange jacket is John Springfield. Both have been president of the CRW and are still members. I don't remember the names of the other people but they were regular riders."
