Dirt Ride

Too Much of a Good Thing - 9000+ feet of climbing in 63 scenic, often shady, miles. This cuesheet is for the "Dirt ride". Related rides that split off it are "Short and steep", "Tech Ride", and "Hybrid Ride". "Dirt Ride" has about 2 miles of trail, maybe 5 miles of asphalt, and the rest mostly good dirt roads. None of "Dirt Ride" requires beyond the intermediate level of mountain bike technique, but the ride is long and feels like more work than the Mt. Wachusett Century.

Details about Where the jugs of water are:

  1. At Short/Long split: About 80 paces up Braintree Mtn. Rd, where 2 trees are felled across the stone wall at right of Braintree Mtn. Rd. Jugs are behind the wall under a felled tree.
  2. Split at 22.8 miles: Where the Tech ride goes straight, there is a parking area. The first bushy bush on right of parking area has jugs under it.
  3. In Roxbury, after you cross Rte 12A and start climbing Warren Mtn Rd, you will pass signs for 30mph. The first sign saying 40mph has jugs in the weeds at its base.
